For me, baking has always been about more than dessert. It began in my grandmother Loretta's kitchen, where I watched her create the kind of treats that made people feel at home. Her sweet potato pie was a favorite, and those early memories sparked a love of baking that has stayed with me throughout my life.

That passion followed me into the United States Air Force, where I discovered my talent for pastry and cake decorating. With encouragement from my supervisor and plenty of practice of my own, I began turning simple cakes into something truly special.

In 1994, I created my first decorated cake for my daughter's second birthday. What started as a homemade celebration soon became a passion for creating cakes and desserts for others.

Over the years, I've continued to learn, create, and perfect my craft. Eventually, I took a leap of faith and turned that lifelong passion into Cakes by Shannon.

Today, I bring that same love, creativity, and attention to detail to every dessert I make—creating sweet moments that become part of life's most memorable celebrations.
